THE TRAVELLER
3D Platformer
Engine: Unity
Platform: PC
Role: Level Designer
Project Type: Bachelor's Degree
The Traveller is an exciting and engaging game that was created by the Naughty Dawgs team during our bachelor's degree program at the University of Bolton. The game is set on a remote island that is covered in a variety of different climates and weather patterns, providing players with a unique and immersive gaming experience. The main objective of the game is to travel to these different areas and locate the lost ship parts after "The Traveller" alien crashed their ship onto the island. Drawing inspiration from the popular platformer game, Crash Bandicoot, I as the level designer created the snow area that featured a treacherous mountain range that players needed to navigate with care. With the help of the programmer, I was able to implement camera change mechanics and traps that players must avoid, such as icicles falling from the ceiling and snowmen throwing snowballs. One of the most notable aspects of the game is the narrative spin that I took with the level, which focuses on subtle hints to what could have been on the island before the alien crash-landed.
